Therapy

If you don't have a close group of girlfriends that you can hang out with....you need to go find some! Scrapbook night was last night and it was just so fun. Kristen hosted it last night and fed us a sinfully delish casserole, that was fat free I am sure. Kristen's sweet little 2 year old guy Carter charmed the socks off of us! Then there was husband Mike who is such a good sport to put up with us loudly laughing silly girls. I am sure poking himself in they eye with a stick would have been preferable to having us invade his house! The rest of the gang was Mary, Christmas Cookie Lorie and Stacey B. (Stacey B. are you there? I said your name Stacey B. Talk to me....quit blurking, it is not healthy!!!!!) The remainder of the group that were not there, you really missed out! We had many a giggle! One night a month with the girls is like re-fueling. I am so thankful for this handful of girls. It is just downright free therapy to get together with close girlfriends and talk, and laugh, and laugh some more, and laugh about the RIDICULOUS & mostly inappropriate conversations that get started and then laugh some more! I love these girls! The best news is that I finished ONE Christmas present last night! Yeah!

Tonight is hubs office Christmas Party. It is usually at the country club, which let's be honest is a rather stuffy and dull affair. But this year they have rented a cool place, the meal is going to be catered and there will be a band. I better brush up on some of my mad dancing skills this morning! Fortunately after a little drinky, maybe two, my mad dancing skills will take on a new life of their own! I will have to get started on the pre-party beauty ritual early this afternoon...plucking, primping, a fury of hair products, changing clothes 20 or 30 times, more primping....ugh just thinking about it.... more coffee please. Plus the fact I have to "tidy up" the house for the babysitter....nothing worse than the thought of the babysitter going home and telling her parents what slobs we are!!!!

Tomorrow MIL and I are going to Dallas to stay with Aunt Gay for 2 days! Yipee I will get full of quilty fun and inspiration! I bet I'll have to share a Gay recipe, she is a super cook, and show pictures of her Christmas quilts when I return! My sister-in-law's brother is a Christian recording artist, and my SIL sings backup for him. They are having a concert in Dallas on Monday night. We are going to the concert so we can see the family. SIL & pesky brother-in-law Mark and their family live in Tennessee. Hubs is playing Mr. Mom for the 3 days I am gone so keep your fingers crossed on that one!

Being in the midst of this holiday season made me want to give some attention to my roots.....

No not my family roots...

My hair roots!!

Sadly there is nothing blonde about my roots, and since I hate the "maintenance" of trying to be blonde I decided to go a little more natural brunette! My roots usually make my hairdresser gasp in horror. I feel all mysterious and studious now. Or not. I was attempting a mysterious and studious look in this picture....I don't think I pulled it off very well! My new mantra will have to be brunettes have more fun!

See yous guys next week!

Brooke, as usual, you made me laugh until I cried last night! Singed hair.........ha,ha,ha, you are tooo crazy!! For those of you who missed it...you had to have been there. It is better therapy than any kind of drug, that's for sure. Enjoy Dallas!
