It's mind boggling, really.

My advice to you today is don't ever paint a room in your house again without first buying a few, hundred, samples. You know how the light in a room changes from sun up to sun down, so you have to live with you color choices for a few days to see how you like it in all light exposures. But who wants to spend $18 on a gallon of paint that you may hate AND goodness knows the little paint cards are honestly no help at all.

There is obviously a brilliant woman (no doubt) somewhere who said... hey make a pint size sample that costs $3.50!

This is a wall in the living room of our "new " house...and no I am not keeping the red accent wall. I think I have narrowed it down to 2.
I am looking for a warm buttery/tan color. When I turn the lamps on at night, my dream is for the wall color to softly glow in a wonderfully cozy way! One is Tobacco Road, which The Nester (and she knows, trust me) swears by. Then we have Cracker Crumb from The Queen Bee...by all means go visit her, she shares some way cool budget friendly decorating!

I think C.C. may be a hint too yellow. I dunno. What do you think?

I think you may be right about the yellow in the Cracker Crumb. I'd go with Tobacco Road on the walls and maybe Cracker Crumb on the fireplace (if you were going to paint it). That would look really fresh. I wish I had found Nester before we painted our entire house. My walls would be slathered in Tobacco Road...love it!

I agree with Hayley, the CC is more yellow. I do like both shade though! I know what you mean about painting an entire room. I have been waiting to "repaint" the yellow in my kitchen for a while now. I like a warmer tone, like what you are striving for and I have it in my living room and hall way. :o)
That Tobacco Road is gorgeous as an earth tone and hopefully when our back doors are replaced, I can do a similar color in this room.
Sorry for such a long answer! :o)
Sincerely ~ Tricia Anne
Ps. Do you have to prime the red wall first? I have never painted over a dark color.

I like the tobacco road as well. The cracker crumb does look yellow in the picture. You probably already know this, but after Tricia Anne asked, I'll put my 2 cents in, definately prime the red first! It will change the color of the paint you are putting on over it if you don't.

One that I have used is "Jersey Cream" SW6379 by Sherwin Williams. It's a nice creamy yellow during the day, but turns into a really warm glowy color at night.

Loving the Tobacco Road...your new place is going to be so gorgeous! I think you should come redo my house when you finish with yours. You clearly have MUCH more talent in this field than I do!

And for Tricia Anne, I'm with Mary on the priming thing. Definitely prime a red wall. Maybe prime it twice. Red is the squirreliest paint color known to man!

Well, I decided after all to comment on this entry. How in the world did you get the little lettering under the paint???? Did you write it on your wall with Sharpie, or are you truly a bloggenius??????????? I am very impressed and amused!!

Ditto from me too! I was thinking the same thing, Lori E! Brooke...you amaze us all. I like Tobacco Road myself, just my two cents though. How fun to be redoing a casa!
