Notes from the pick up lane at school

While I patiently wait in my car for school to get out every day, I usually have my nose in a book. Sometimes I cannot help but pause to people watch as some parents park and go into the school to pick up their kids.

I have collected my thoughts and decided on my top 3 disturbing & unforgivable sights from the carpool line:

1. Do not wear your Disney pajama pants into your child's school.

2. On that same note do not wear your slippers into your child's school.

3. Always, ALL~ways wear a bra.

Coming in at a close 4th place would be buy clothes in your size, for crying out loud. I don't care if you buy clothes at K-Mart or Neiman Marcus...it makes no difference. Look in the mirror before you purchase! If your muffin top is hanging out in the breeze for all the world to see, please reconsider your shirt size.

I am not making fun of people with muffin tops...ahem...I just sayin' cover those things up! I don't show you mine, so don't show me yours.

Also I am not judging how people look, because heaven knows I am sitting in my car looking like a Clinton and Stacy project just waiting to happen. However I am not traipsing through a dirty nasty parking lot and sidewalks in my warm, cute, cozy slippers. Eww. Nor any Eeyore pajama bottoms. AND I have on the appropriate undergarments!

I am also all for wearing my pj's for as long as possible on any given day and have even worn them in the car to run somewhere quickly...only if I was 100% positive that I would not have to get out of the car.

On that note if you can get away without wearing a bra with an appropriately thick top and it is not noticeable....then I say have at it.

However if your bewbies look like clock pendulums and you are wearing a thin dingy white t-shirt without a bra...that makes people want to loose their lunch.

So while I am having all these snarky thoughts about people walking by my car...they in turn are wondering why this freak show is taking pictures of herself!!!Because I got all my hair cut off! Yippee

I had grown my hair out fairly long and it seemed to be up in a messy bun 99% of the time......so what is the point of long hair then? I knew it was time to say adios.

Now I am free...whoohoo! And I checked when I got home, I can still get it into a short stubby ponytail.

Look who lost his front tooth at school yesterday....I was sad. That is when kids look bigger, when they lose their front teeth and the permanent ones come in. The "baby" look is gone forever. Sigh. Oh well I guess I am lucky because 8 is on the late side to be losing front teeth.

It rained about 8.5" yesterday. No joke. It was bizarre. There is no record of a rain that big in our city, this was a first. School was cancelled for today because of flooding.

Hooray for no school. I love it!!! I made blueberry muffins this morning and we cuddled up on the couch. Now blonde rascal is outside. Who wants to make a wager on how many loads of muddy laundry I will have to do today?

Blonde rascal is spending the night with a friend tonight and hubs had to go out of town today to see a customer, so he won't be home until late. I am going to rent movies...if I the roads are passable...and curl up with the weenie dog tonight!

I love the new hair. I got mine whacked off yesterday too. She just finished styling it all up and I had to walk out into the torrential rain....waste of time that was!!!

OMG your hair is adorable!!! Nice move. It'll go great with your pj pants and thong in the pick up line (I know you do it...c'mon, admit it!!)

I see such bizarreness in the pick up line too. We should start a sneaky picture blog of the kooks doing their stuff...if we not look so weird sneaky the pics!

Yay BR losing his tooth!!

Okay, I'm gonna have to do it too! Stacey B is getting hers cut as we speak!!! (Her kids are with me, that's how I know, I'm not stalking her!) I've got to figure out what to do with it, I'm sick of ponytails 4 days a week. All my hair is falling out, I think it's due to the constant ponytails. Brooke, you look adorable, and I agree on all of your fashion observations whole-heartedly!!

Your hair is precious. Good move! And I second your motion about pajamas and loose boobs in public. Yuck.

YOu're totally rocking the bangs! Oh..... I may have to copy!

Did you save his toof? My Dad has many of our teeth and I'm a bit freaked to admit that I have many of my boys' teeth wrapped in tissue and stuck away. It's fun to find them and see just how teeny tiny they actually were at one time. Being as Cole is 6 feet tall now! Enjoy those cuddles now!

You are just adorable and I am so glad I met you yesterday. We should really start a club called , "Disney attire is NOT for adults". There is nothing more ridiculous to me than a grown woman, or man for that matter, wearing a shirt with goofy on the front. It is disturbing on many levels. I am weird though, I don't even like Disney propaganda on my kids. And, I never saw your hair long, but it is adorable short!

Brooke, I too love the hair, and Mary, if you read this, you just grew your hair out, leave it. And I am SOOOO in agreement with Meredith, PLEASE sneak pictures and post. That would be so funny. At my pick up line....I am the one that others would be taking pictures of and posting......however, I am still FOR IT!!!!

I have to tell you I saw it ALL this morning. I assume this lady was planning on just dropping off her child , but her daughter insisted she walk her in. She was in fleece like pajama bottoms and a white tshirt with you guessed it...NO BRA!!!! Yuck!!! I immediately thought of you!!

Preach it sister! Those rules need to be laid in stone. Cute hair. I'm in that, "I'll let it grow out until it gets on my last nerve" stage that happens every 6 months :)

PS-I tagged you. You can read about it on my blog.

Your new hair do is adorable. Love it!! Mine keeps getting shorter and shorter. It's much easier to take care of.
It seems that there are alot of front toothless kids running around lately. I've seen them all over blogland. LOL

Hello,
I am visiting through The Handmade Housewife (Hayley) and was sitting here cracking up at your post! :o) Too funny! I was cleaning house yesterday and the school called because my daughter was sick. I panicked! I had all the "indoor cleaning clothes on and no makeup" look! I cleaned up before I left! :o)
I adored the pictures of the tent in the living room! I love tents in our house! My children are a little older, but we still love them! :o) I am older now too, so tough to spend the night in! We use air mattresses for those nights. Smile!
Sincerely ~ Tricia Anne
Ps. Sorry so long!
Pss. Your hair cut is adorable!!
